Twenty years ago BJB Contractors started out doing groundworks, and two decades on, that hands-on approach still shapes how we work today. We’re an owner-led business based in Hereford, which means the person who quotes your job is the same person who turns up to do it – there’s no handing you off to a subcontractor once the ink’s dry, and no layers of management between you and the people actually doing the work. We now cover groundworks, fencing and plant hire across Herefordshire, Shropshire and further afield, for farms, equestrian facilities, developments, private land and commercial sites alike, and we’ve built our reputation on turning up when we say we will and doing the job properly the first time, rather than promising more than we can deliver.

Accreditation You Can Check

We hold NRSWA accreditation, Constructionline registration and Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) credentials, so clients aren’t just taking our word for it – our standards are independently recognised by the bodies that set them. Over the years we’ve built up a fleet ranging from 1.8 to 15 tonne excavators through to dumpers, rollers and post-knockers, letting us take on jobs of nearly any scale, with or without an operator. That investment in our own machinery means we’re not waiting on hired-in kit to get a job started, and it means we can move quickly when a project needs turning around fast. It’s also let us branch into supplying machinery and attachments to order for other people running similar equipment, drawing on years of knowing what actually holds up on site.

We work equally well with commercial clients and private landowners, and we’re at our best on projects where groundworks, fencing and plant hire come together under one contractor rather than three separate ones.
